Location: Bedford, MA
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
–Design and optimize synthetic routes to novel targets. Efficiently execute multistep synthesis, productively synthesize analogs, and independently solve synthetic challenges.
–Apply knowledge and technique in synthetic and medicinal chemistry to generate SAR, propose viable synthetic modifications, improve properties, and evolve chemical series.
–Design and execute synthesis of key intermediates and targets on multi-gram scale.
–Thoroughly and accurately characterize novel compounds and provide detailed written procedures. Maintain research records and laboratory notes according to established procedures and level of content/quality required.
–Summarize findings and perform data reduction for reports and presentations to other science staff, supervisor(s)/management. Compose reports and findings in descriptive and clear format, for ease of communication and effectiveness of information transfer.
Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related science, with a minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience OR M.S. in organic chemistry with a minimum of 6 years relevant industry experience.
Knowledge and experience in structure-based drug design a plus; Highly skilled, experienced synthetic chemist;
Team oriented, self-motivated, scientist, that can work efficiently with minimal supervision;
Experience with common analytical methods (NMR, HPLC, MS), purification methods (ISCO, HPLC, MPLC), and literature searching required; Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced, highly integrated team environment required.
