•Ensure high standard medical support for the study teams, globally harmonized training
standards, effective resource management and quality of the medical data
review of the clinical development and global medical affairs lifecycle
management trials so that patient safety, quality of medical data and
optimal development of projects are maintained.
•Responsibility for recruiting, training, and managing Clinical Research Physicians while also ensuring a seamless fit to company needs and procedures; optimizing and managing resource needs to support the different trials; maintaining and encouraging flexibility; and setting objectives and goals for direct reports.
•This group contributes significantly to resource transparency as well as ensures the best possible medical support for the global clinical development and medical affairs organizations.
•M.D. required; training and/or experience in oncology is required
•At least 6 years’ experience in medical science and drug development (from protocol
writing to CSR).
•In depth understanding of the drug development and commercialization process
•Proven leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
•People management experience; budget management experience
•Proven ability to provide clear vision, direction and purpose in the different cultures present
within the global Clinical Development and Medical Affairs organization.
•Desire and ability to teach and mentor junior level clinicians on developing and running
•Strong communication skills to ensure that project plans and status are transparent, and that
risks, issues and results are clear to all involved parties.
•Ability to work within a matrix structure, which requires additional skills in gathering decision
information, negotiation and communicating decisions and action.
•Ability to execute his / her responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience
and creativity, seeking to work both independently and collaboratively.
•Proven cultural sensitivity, experience with working in a global environment is an asset.
•Ability to adapt to different people management practices across the world.
•Excellent English, both written and spoken
